Arielle Hobbs
“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” - Helen KellerOwner, LMHC, RLT Certified, Certified Sex Therapist, Murray Method Level I & II
Dr. Arielle Hobbs, PhD, LMHC, CST, RLT is a licensed therapist, clinical sexologist, and practice owner at Saint Augustine Counseling in St. Augustine, Florida. She is known for a direct, no-nonsense style that cuts through the noise and gets to the heart of what actually needs to change.
She is not the kind of therapist who will simply sit and listen while you talk in circles. She is kind, respectful, and deeply accepting of each person’s reality, but she will also tell you clearly what she sees and what she thinks needs to shift. Clients who work with Dr. Hobbs often describe the experience as challenging, clarifying, and transformative.
Her Story
Dr. Hobbs is a therapist, mother, wife, sister, and writer. She is passionate about helping people grow, heal, and come into greater fullness in themselves and their relationships. She believes deeply in creating therapeutic relationships built on safety, trust, and hope — spaces where people feel both accepted and challenged to grow in new and meaningful ways.
She considers it a privilege to walk alongside someone through their fears, pain, and hardest moments. For that reason, she approaches counseling as an opportunity to help people reduce suffering, build real coping skills, and experience greater joy, purpose, and self-acceptance.
Who She Works With
Dr. Hobbs works with adults navigating marriage and relationship challenges, sex and sexuality, spiritual development, and chronic illness. Her recently completed doctorate in Clinical Sexology deepens her expertise in sexual health and intimacy, making her one of a small number of therapists equipped to address these concerns with both clinical rigor and candor.
She is particularly well-suited for clients who prefer a therapist who will engage directly, offer honest feedback, and hold them accountable alongside supporting them.
She is licensed to practice in Florida and New Hampshire.
Her Approach
Dr. Hobbs draws on a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Murray Method, Attachment Theory, mindfulness, inner child work, and Terry Real’s Relational Life Therapy (RLT). She tailors her approach to the specific goals and strengths of each client, so that therapy is always a meaningful fit rather than a one-size-fits-all model.
Finding the Right Fit
With so many therapists to choose from, what matters most is the match. Dr. Hobbs encourages anyone considering therapy to trust their instincts about fit. The relationship should feel honest, productive, and safe. Good therapy can be uncomfortable at times, and that is often a sign that real work is happening. When difficult emotions come up between or during sessions, she welcomes bringing those directly into the room so they can be worked through together.

Books I have written
Sully the Raccoon
Sully the Raccoon is based on the real-life adventures of author Arielle Hobbs’ son Sullivan (Sully). Told from the perspective of Sully’s big brother, the first book in the series shares the family’s humorous tale of embracing Sully’s intellectual disability after he began wearing a raccoon costume.
Be Your Own Rainbow
This book was inspired by my daughter’s fear and fascination with thunderstorms and my dear friend Kailey who gave me the title “Be Your Own Rainbow.” This book is a rhythmic reminder for all ages to embrace their true selves and be exactly who God designed them to be. Constructed as an affirmation for my own children, to embrace their unique features, flaws, fears, failures and fun.
