About Jackson
Jackson is a Registered Mental Health Counselor who believes people are capable of growth, even when life feels overwhelming, and he brings a genuine curiosity and warmth to that belief that shows up in every session. His approach to mental health is shaped by both professional training and personal experience. As someone in recovery from alcoholism, Jackson understands firsthand that change is rarely easy, and that overcoming adversity takes a willingness to keep moving forward, one step at a time. He believes our struggles don’t have to define us; they can become part of the story of how we grow stronger, build resilience, and create a life that feels genuinely meaningful.
Jackson works with clients navigating a wide range of compulsive and addictive patterns; substance use, sexual and pornography-related struggles, gambling, and the newer, harder-to-name pull of screens and media. But the word he gravitates toward isn’t addiction, it’s resiliency. He sees these struggles less as a life sentence and more as an invitation: a place where someone can rebuild their relationship with themselves and rediscover their own strength.
Jackson is also drawn to the intersection of mental and physical wellbeing, with a personal interest in longevity and healthspan, how the way we live now shapes the years ahead. He’s passionate about performance psychology as well, both in sports and in everyday life, and loves helping people understand the mental side of showing up at their best, whether that’s on the field, at work, or simply in the day-to-day pursuit of a life well-lived.
His Approach
Jackson practices Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an approach focused on helping people identify what truly matters to them and take meaningful action based on those values. He believes therapy isn’t about eliminating uncomfortable feelings or difficult experiences — it’s about learning to respond to those challenges in healthier, more productive ways. Jackson works with clients to clarify their values and take real, meaningful steps toward a life worth living, even when the path gets hard.
His Philosophy
Jackson believes the truest sign of good mental health is resilience — the ability to come back from adversity, learn from hardship, and refuse to give up on yourself. Everyone faces setbacks, disappointment, loss, and difficult circumstances. We can’t always control what happens to us, but we can find strength within it and choose how we respond. Whether someone is navigating substance use, compulsive behaviors, relationships, anxiety, life transitions, or simply feels stuck, Jackson believes there’s always an opportunity to discover inner strength and push back against what’s been holding them down. Sometimes our most painful experiences become the very catalyst that helps us grow — and gives us the courage to stand up for what truly matters. Jackson’s goal is to walk alongside his clients, with curiosity and heart, as they build a resilient life that reflects who they’re becoming.
