Lucy Baird

Lucy is a licensed mental health counselor, Registered Art Therapist (ATR), and registered yoga teacher who offers a creative, collaborative, and experiential approach to therapy.

Qualifications:

Lucy works with people who are looking for a therapeutic relationship but are not quite sure what they need yet, including those who are naturally creative or visual thinkers, or who sense that some of their experiences live in the body but are hard to put into words.

Working with Lucy means entering an authentic, curiosity-centered space where clients are encouraged to be active participants in their own process. Her work may draw from talk therapy, art therapy, EMDR, and mindfulness and movement practices, depending on each client’s needs, goals, and preferences.

This approach creates space for exploring experiences beyond words while developing greater awareness of the connections between thoughts, emotions, and the body. Lucy’s goal is to support each client in cultivating self-trust, greater emotional awareness, and a life that feels authentically their own rather than shaped by others’ expectations.

Sessions are fluid and responsive and may involve conversation and reflection, creative expression, mindfulness or movement practices, and trauma-focused approaches such as EMDR when clinically appropriate. There is also room for whatever naturally arises in the therapy space—including laughter, tears, curiosity, uncertainty, and everything in between.

Lucy works with adults navigating a variety of life experiences and concerns, including trauma, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, grief, life transitions, relationship concerns, and career and identity exploration.

Lucy is committed to creating an inclusive, affirming, and supportive space for LGBTQ+ clients and people of all identities, backgrounds, and life experiences.

Therapy with Lucy is not about fixing anyone. It is an opportunity to slow down, become curious, explore what may be ready to change, and develop a deeper sense of self-trust along the way.

She approaches therapy as a collaborative process, walking alongside each client with openness and compassion as they discover what a more authentic life can look like for them and take steps toward living in greater alignment with their values.
