"The essence of trauma is disconnection from the self." - Gabor Mate

RMHCI, EMDR, Murray Method Level I & II

Do you feel disconnected, pressured, empty, or angry? Stressed, overwhelmed, or anxious? Are you trying to understand why you do what you do, or who you are? Do you know you need to heal from past trauma but are afraid to go there? Are you searching for a sense of purpose, struggling to make sense of your relationships, deconstructing from your faith, or healing from spiritual trauma? Are you stuck?

If any of that resonates, you are in the right place. These are the feelings and questions that bring people to Janie Koike. Together, she and her clients begin the process of sifting through thoughts, feelings, experiences, core beliefs, values, and defense mechanisms, all in the service of healing, awareness, wholeness, and health.

Her Approach

Janie’s therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and directive. She creates a safe space for clients to do meaningful work, drawing on Compassionate Inquiry, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and the Murray Method. Her goal is to help clients integrate mind, body, and spirit so they can live the life they desire.

Janie believes deeply in the inner resources of her clients. The capacity for real change already lives within each person. Her training has taught her how to help clients access it.
