"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."― HippocratesHealth, Wellness, & Nutrition
This is a safe spaceship – I’ve been there and I’m not judging.
Let’s talk about food, movement, and finding balance in our lives… Food is an existential requirement that should nourish us mind, body, and soul, but diet culture tells us all the wrong things, and it is incredibly unhelpful. Our existence is our well-being, and our well-being is our existence… Food is part of that. The more we understand ourselves, our bodies, our habits, and our interactions, the more naturally food finds its place in our lives in ways that nourish us.
Movement doesn’t have to be intense and it shouldn’t feel like a punishment. Think food + movement, not diet & exercise and see how things shift. Our bodies are constantly working to achieve and maintain a state of homeostasis, or harmony within ourselves and our environments. Finding a balance with these two things is a great way to find embodied empowerment in a world of (un)wellness.
I have been working in and studying health, fitness, and wellness for 15 years, working with specialty populations and coaching based on individual needs, neurotypes, and learning styles. EveryBODY is different, and each and everyone deserves gratitude. Yes, you included.
I am a Certified Nutrition Specialist Candidate with a master’s in integrative and functional nutrition, specializing in mind-body medicine and culinary nutrition, a bachelor’s in philosophy + religion, and I am completing my dissertation in decolonial biopsychosocial anthropology. That’s the academic way of saying that I have lived, studied, and worked with all kinds of people in many different ways from a variety of perspectives and food + movement are my favorite ways to heal and help others heal.
I’m not here to give you “the” answers, I’m here to help you find YOUR answers. I’ll always be honest with you, and I expect you to be honest with me so that I can help empower you to be confident in your healing and know that you put in the work.
